What does the test consist of?

The analysis consists of obtaining a small stool sample for subsequent analysis using specialised techniques.

PREPARATION:

  • No prior diet is required and fasting is not necessary.
  • The days prior to taking the sample, you should avoid taking antidiarrhoeal drugs and do not perform the test after a barium X-ray study.
  • Do not perform the test during menstrual periods.
  • Avoid suppositories or laxatives.
  • Do not use corticosteroids, antibiotics or antihistamines during the 20 days prior to taking the sample.
